Titan Desert was born on 2006 as a MTB-alternative to Paris-Dakar. The organizers wanted to create an event as tough as Paris-Dakar for MTB lovers, creating a race that is an opportunity for the participants to test their limits and overcome themselves.<\/p>\n

Titan Desert is open to anybody that wants to participate, and there’s no need to be a professional rider. However, it’s necessary to be in very good shape and be aware of the challenge: you will be cycling in the desert, with high temperatures and in really hard conditions. At some points, you will even need to carry your bike and walk, as the sand makes impossible to continue pedalling.<\/p>\n

The Titan Desert’s itinerary changes every year<\/h2>\n

Along it’s 6 stages, we can visit many places in Morocco such as the village of Merzouga in the desert, Rissani (a city in a palm grove) or a mountain stage in the Morrocan-Swiss Alps (Ifrane) that was part of the Titan Desert in the last edition of the race. The total distance of the race changes every year, but it stands around 650 kilometres divided in 6 stages.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to the hard work \u00a0of more that 100 people that are part of Titan Desert’s staff, plus all the doctors, physioterapists and mechanics that will accompany you\u00a0in every stage, you will have the chance to rest and relax inside of the haimas<\/em> that you will find set everyday after the race. The organization stress the importance of a \u00a0good environment in the camp, and they put a lot of effort in creating a good atmosphere for the all the riders that will live together for 6 days in the desert.<\/p>\n

It may seem that, due to its size, the Titan Desert could damage the areas where it takes place, but there is nothing further from the truth. The organization has a team of people in charge of cleaning and recycling rubbish generated after every stage.<\/p>\n

Titan Desert will test your capacity and limits, so being mentally preparerd is as important as being in a good shape.<\/p>\n

On 2014, Antonio Lled\u00f3 was the first person with diabetes in finishing the Titan Deser, showing that diabetes is not an excuse to go for your dreams!<\/p>\n

Security is one of the main concerns for the organizers of Titan Deser. All riders will be provided with a geolocation device so that their position is always controled. Furthermore, the organization is aware of how important it is to increase the safety of the participants, wearing a Safesport ID emergency bracelet<\/a> is highly recomended.<\/p>\n
