With its 92 km and 7.344 metres of ascent, the Ultra Trail Valls d\u2019\u00c0neu is one of the hardest races you can imagine, only for the most experienced runners.<\/em><\/p>\n

Departing and arriving at Esterri d\u2019Aneu, the Ultra Trail Valls d\u2019\u00c0neu<\/a> will take its participants through a stunning itinerary<\/strong> through the National Park of Aiguestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici and the Parc Natural del Alt Pirineu in L\u00e9rida, Spain.<\/p>\n

The itinerary of this race it\u2019s not only really demanding but also, and as the race\u2019s organizer of the race defines it \u201cuntamed<\/strong>\u201d. \u201cThe UTVA <\/a>will make the runner suffer and feel how ti is to run in the mountain\u201d Lloret declares.<\/p>\n

How was the Ultra Trail Valls d\u2019\u00c0neu born?<\/h1>\n

\u201cIt actually started as a hommage for our Friends Edu, Just and Quique<\/strong>, who lost their life in an unfortunate accident\u201d said Ram\u00f3n Villuendas, race director and also major of Esterri d\u2019\u00c0neu.<\/p>\n

The first edition took place on 2009 but with a shorter distance and since then the race has been growing and growing every year, attracting runners from the whole world who really appreciate such a hard itinerary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ultra Trail Valls d\u2019\u00c0neu in numbers<\/h1>\n

This year the athletes will be able to participate in three different distances that are more fitting for the different profiles of runners that want to take part in this experience<\/strong>: 93K, 45K and 20K. With so many options, there are no excuses for nor participating and enjoy a course that will take us to the most beautiful landscapes of Spain.<\/p>\n

On 2015 it was the runner Nerea Mart\u00ednez Urruzola who set the record in 18 hours and 51 minutes. On the other hand, and regarding the male category, on 2014 three people, who entered the finish line together<\/strong> after 15 hours and 10 minutes.<\/p>\n

The UTVA <\/a>is a clear example of how sport can help invigorate rural areas. The council of Esterri d\u2019\u00c0neu understood this potentiality and the opportunity to promote the area of Vall d\u2019\u00c0neu during the race.<\/p>\n

The 2016 UTVA <\/a>will be held on July the 2nd<\/sup> and we are sure that, once again, it will be a complete success.
