Er war bis 2001 Teil der Ironman Serien und ist seit 2002 unabh\u00e4ngig der WTC (World Triathlon Corporation) und l\u00e4uft unter dem Namen <strong>Challenge Roth<\/strong>. Nach der letzten Sponsoren\u00e4nderung hei\u00dft er jetzt <a href=\"http:\/\/www.challenge-roth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DATEV Challenge Roth<\/strong><\/a> und ist m\u00f6glicherweise der wichtigste Triathlon auf Ironman Distanz Europas mit \u00fcber 4.000 Teilnehmern.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Der Lauf<\/h3>\n<p>Der erste Teil der Wettkampfes, die 3,86 Km lange Schwimmstrecke, findet im Main-Donau-Kanal, ca. 10 Km au\u00dferhalb von Roth statt. Die darauffolgende Radstrecke \u00fcber 180 km (zwei Runden mit 86 km plus 8 km) f\u00fchrt \u00fcber den Kalvarienberg bei Greding, den Solarer Berg (Stimmungshighlight der Strecke) und \u00fcber Eckersm\u00fchlen (Stimmungsnest \u201eBiermeile\u201c) zur\u00fcck nach Roth. Der Gr\u00fcnder und Veranstalter <strong>Felix Walchsh\u00f6fer <\/strong><strong>hat es wohl nie bedauert, im Jahr 2002 den Vertrag mit WTC gek\u00fcndigt und seinen eigenen Ironman unter der Marke
